In this edition we visit Bridlington Model Boat Society where we were made welcome by john ‘fozzie’ Foster and the chairman, Ken Thorpe. Now sited at Carnaby Industrial Estate this society of enthusiasts have been modelling for over forty years, and must be one of the biggest model society in the country (membership over 300 and growing). It was once a favourite haunt of mine and still would be were I more mobile.
In my time the society was predominantly boat oriented, including scale, fast electric, i/c, and competitive sailings. Since then it has diversified, even venturing into drones. Maybe someone will come up with drone racing round pylons. At Bridlington M.B.S. anything and everything is possible.
